2004 Cowboys Varsity | State 5A Champions

2004 Cowboys Varsity

The Cowboys took home the schools first State 5A Soccer Championship beating San Antonio Reagan 3-2 in Georgetown Saturday April 10, 2004. Game MVP Scott Geppert had two goals in the first half, both on assists by Ben Stewart. Reagan came back to tie it 2-2 before a 2 hour lightning delay at half-time. Aaron VanOverschelde put Coppell on top for good scoring on a breakaway in the second half. After two more lightning delays, and some great defensive play by the entire defense and midfield the Cowboys came away champions. Congratulations to Coaches Lawhon, Ridley and Sills and most of all the players on a great game and season. It has been a memorable season. Good luck to all the graduating seniors.
